April 20, 2022 – Becky returned to Alabama State University this spring to be a patient model for the 2022 graduating class of prosthetists. The final photo with another patient model has special significance. Scroll to the picture below on 3/1/15 — Bailey is all grown up!

April 10, 2021 – A story Becky wrote called “Connected by Kindness” appeared in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Miracles & Divine Intervention. The book released in January 2021. Read about the kind doctor who helped her as an infant and the chance meeting with his daughter in Washington, D.C., fifty years later.

2019 – Becky participated in “Read Across America” at several elementary schools. She read “Girl Fight,” “Green Fingernails,” and “Skating Rink” from One Smile, One Arm. The kids enjoyed meeting an author and asked tons of great questions about her prosthetic arm and about writing a book.

February 28, 2018 – For “Read Across America,” Becky read stories from One Smile, One Arm to second graders. They especially liked the “Girl Fight” story! It opened a conversation about bullying and the right way to respond to a bully.

June 3, 2016 – The Decatur Public Library (Decatur, AL) hosted a Local Author Meet & Greet. Becky and five other authors enjoyed talking with guests and signing books for them.

May 21, 2015 – Becky had the honor of being a presenter at the Tennessee Disability MegaConference in Nashville, TN. She was super blessed by the courageous and determined people she met there. She led a session called One Smile, One Arm that focused on adaptions to function in everyday life.

March 21, 2015 – Look at that smile, will you? Becky got to hang out with 6-year-old Savannah who is taking on the world. She was born without a right forearm and hand, but is quick to tell you, “I like who I am!”

March 1, 2015 – Bailey lost her arm in an ATV accident in Sept. 2013. (Her little sister Beth, also pictured, was in the accident too, but thankfully only suffered minor injuries.) Bailey is now 11 years old and full of life. Becky asked her, “What is the hardest thing for you to do?” She responded, “Nothing, really.” What a positive attitude she has! She is being fitted this week for a myoelectric hand. Becky loved spending the day with Bailey and her awesome family.

April 5, 2014 – Cassi stopped to see Becky on her way from Indianapolis to the beach. 9-year-old Cassi lives her life with the same challenges as Becky, no left arm from above the elbow. She’s a competitive swimmer, and plays volleyball and basketball. Go, Cassi!

Nov. 15, 2013 – Becky was featured in the Living/Religion section of the Decatur Daily, Decatur, AL. Several stories from her book, One Smile, One Arm, were highlighted in the article.
